A Vertical Leadership Development Program
for the Complexity of Our Times
"When the map runs out,
the leader becomes the instrument."
Today's leaders face challenges (AI disruption, polarization, organizational transformation, and meaning collapse) that are not primarily strategic problems. They are developmental ones. Leaders operating from well-worn frameworks are encountering a world that has outrun their current operating systems.
When AI replicates more of what you do, the question becomes: what in your leadership is irreducibly human?
The pressure to choose sides (in strategy, in culture, in belief) is increasing. Either-or thinking is no longer sufficient.
The situations leaders face resist the tools they were trained to use. More knowledge isn't the answer. Something deeper is being asked.
Many leaders sense that the stories they've been leading from, and for, no longer hold the weight they once did.
"These are not strategic problems. They are developmental ones."
It changes the operating system.
In a world of accelerating complexity, the capacity to keep learning horizontally is no longer enough. What this moment is asking of leaders is a change in the structure through which they think, feel, and lead: a genuine expansion of their developmental range.

About the assessment. The Global Leadership Profile (GLP) is an instrument that maps your meaning-making structure: the underlying lens through which you interpret complexity, relationships, and purpose. Each participant receives a one-to-one debrief before the programme begins. The MyWorldView is also available as an alternative on request.
Each module holds one developmental threshold. Together, they form a single arc: from disruption to integration.
"Who is the 'I' that leads, and what is it made of?"
Identity disruption: the constructed nature of the self that leads. Revealing the stories, roles, and beliefs that both organize and constrain your leadership.
"What are you refusing that the world needs you to hold?"
Polarity consciousness: moving from either-or to both-and as structural capacity, not preference. Learning to hold opposing forces as a creative rather than defeating tension.
"What are you not seeing, and why?"
Systemic awareness: accessing the assumptions beneath your behaviour and the quality of attention beneath those assumptions. The territory that is always present and rarely seen.
"Who are you becoming, and what will you do with that?"
Integration: disruption, widening, and illumination cohere into a new quality of embodied, awake presence. Designing the conditions that keep your development alive beyond this program.
"From managing the world from a fixed identity, to navigating from fluid, relational, embodied, and awake presence."
A named and witnessed relationship to your leadership identity, and the stories that organize it. You see what was previously invisible: what steers you, what constrains you, and what is available when you are no longer run by it.
Genuine both-and capacity: the ability to hold polarization with systemic responsibility, not just tolerance. You become someone who can work with opposing forces rather than being collapsed by them.
Access to a new kind of awareness: the assumptions beneath your behaviour and the quality of attention beneath those assumptions. You gain the capacity to see your own seeing, and act from what you find there.
A personal developmental design: the practices, relationships, and structures that keep your development genuinely alive beyond this program. Not a certificate, but a continuing orientation.
This program is designed for leaders who sense that what is being asked of them now exceeds the toolkit they've built, and who are willing to do the kind of inner work that genuine development requires.
"For once, the only thing that matters is who you are becoming, not what you need to appear to be."
This is an open cohort of senior leaders drawn from entirely different organisations, none of whom share your reporting lines or your organisational pressures. The developmental work this program invites is only possible in a space where impressions do not need to be managed, and such spaces are rarely available to leaders at this level.
"AI can replicate what you know. It cannot replicate who you are becoming."
The capacities AI cannot replicate (the quality of your presence, the depth of your attention, the ability to hold genuine complexity without collapsing into certainty) are precisely what this program develops. This is not framed as a defense against disruption, but as a considered response to what the current moment is asking of leaders.
"If you have spent years accumulating frameworks and still sense something is missing, this is why."
Most leadership programs add to what you know. This one changes who is doing the knowing. If you have invested in skills, frameworks, and methodologies and still sense a gap, that gap is developmental rather than informational. Vertical development does not supply more tools; it expands the structure through which you use the ones you already have.
Michael Bertrand is a certified developmental coach and leadership program designer with deep expertise in vertical development. He is GLP-certified through Global Leadership Associates and works at the intersection of developmental theory, somatic practice, and systemic inquiry.
His approach holds one conviction above all: that leaders who can work with the full complexity of their inner world are more capable of meeting the full complexity of the outer one.
"The world today does not need more leaders who have the right answers. It needs leaders who can stay present to navigate its complexity."
